2001 Toyota Tundra Trailer Lights Not Working
Brake lights and indicator lights work fine.
2001 toyota tundra trailer lights not working. The number 1 terminal white wire of your 7 pin plug should be your ground your hitch should not be your ground. This is the first time I have come across this. Master Automotive Mechanic.

So the hazards work fine but the turn signals dont work at all. I hooked up a newer trailer to my Tundra for the first time everything worked fine for about ten minutes then turning off the freeway the turn signals did not work so I checked the 20amp fuse and it was ok. When I press the brake the tail light lights up but not the 3rd brake light.
I called the dealership and my sales guy said he will check if it is covered by the 3yr30000 my truck is a 10 and I bought it used in Feb 2011. Then test the wires coming out of the converter. Hazards work only when lights are off.
I replaced the flasher relay and it. If it does work the porblem would be the 7-pin socket or the wiring to the 7-pin socket on the truck. If yes then check the trailer plug.
Checked trailer plug no power checked under hood 30a fuse is good trailer tow relay has no power. I had towed the trailer a week earlier and the lights were fine I did some troubleshooting on the trailer and found that the camera was shorted which took out the lights. The tail light and brake light same bulb are an LED bulb but that shouldnt make a difference seeing how as they have worked just fine previous to a few days ago.
