On the 1GR-FE Engine the fuel pump relay is just to the left of the COPEN relay under the hood. The pump will run at low speed under lighter loads and switch to high speed beyond a certain load determined by throttle position commanded injector pulse width etc. To disconnect the fuel pump harness you have to crawl under the truck and pull the connector off of the fuel pump itself.
