1st Generation Toyota Tundra Knock Sensor Location
I changed the timing beltwater pump and tensioner.
1st generation toyota tundra knock sensor location. AVS Forum 1M members. Just under the middle passenger side of the head and the driver side. I checked continuity of sensor there is none good and made sure it was installed tightly.

The knock sensors in the GX470 and in all modern ToyotaLexus engines are how the cars Engine Control Module ECM monitors the engine for the correct ignition timing. The sensor is located right under the intake manifold. Most cars that are manufactured today have knock sensors installed in the engine.
Its a huge PITA to get to but there have been a couple of write-ups here if you search. Turns out that I had a low oil level that would trip the knock sensor more frequently for me because one of my driveway was pitched. DIY - Replace Knock Sensor.
Not do be confused with the oil. Often the case its the carbon build up or bad sparkplugs. Not 100 guaranteed but it is most likely the problem.
