Mine iswas bad and has been changed. You can turn the key and will get a single click but nothing else. 5w-30 is right oil type for 47L.
As right now my truck does not. I know this because I am currently having fun with an 07 57L starter. If your Toyota Tundra 47L starter is having problems and is only starting intermittently or not at all then you will need to replace it.
My 2008 Toyota Tundra 57L SR5 TRD has some bad i guess wheel bearing noise coming from the rear of the truck. The easiest way to locate it follow the positive battery cable down to it they are a bear to replace last thing I saw on them was you had to remove windshield wiper arms and all kinds of stuff to get to them heres what a guy listed on his 2006 If your Tundra has a 47 L v8 then be prepared for a long job. It will eventually start but you have to go through turning the key.

2007 57L Super White CM Limited 4x4 JBL sound package. Took it to the shop and they replaced the starter relay and it worked fine for a week then it started doing it again. The most useful tip appears to be how to not have to drain the coolant by leaving the Turbo attached and setting it aside while removing the manifold and access to the starter.
